Spaghetti dinner was a weekly occurrence at our house pre-Keto. To keep this dish low carb there are a few options - use low carb noodles or vegetable noodles. If you don't yet have a spiralizer, we highly recommend getting one, we love zoodles (zucchini noodles). This tool will give you so many more options. One of our favorite Keto friendly noodles are from Miracle Noodle and they make several shapes including spaghetti, fettuccine and rice. You can use this recipe as a dipping sauce for our cheesy breadsticks too (recipe here).
Meaty Marinara Sauce
2 pounds ground meat (we use 93% beef)
30oz can tomato sauce (no salt added)
15oz can diced tomatoes
6oz can tomato paste
2-3 cloves garlic
1T dried minced onion
2 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
In a large skillet, cook ground beef, season with salt and pepper, thoroughly. Add remaining ingredients and simmer on low for one hour, covered.
NOTE: This is the same recipe we use for our regular marinara sauce, minus the meat, for when we make spaghetti and meatballs. (See our meatloaf/meatball recipe here)
