Keto Recipe: Protein Waffle Bread / Chaffles

The latest craze for bread replacement among Ketonians has to be chaffles - a waffle made with cheese and egg. We found it to be to eggy so we've come up with two variations that don't taste like an omelet. These are sturdy enough to use as sandwich bread even grilled cheese. The one with mayonnaise has a softer texture, while the one with Parmesan is crispier. Try them both and tell us what you think. Enjoy!

Keto Protein Waffle Bread

  • 2 eggs

  • 2T mayonnaise

  • 1/2 scoop whey protein powder (we like Levels)

  • dash of each of the following seasonings: garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, s&p

Add all ingredients into a bullet blender cup (we use Ninja). Pulse for 1-2 minutes or until smooth. Pour 1/4c into hot waffle iron (we use mini Dash). Makes 4 waffles. Refrigerate or freeze any unused portions.


Keto Protein Chaffles

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/2c grated Parmesan

  • 1/2 scoop whey protein powder (we like Levels)

  • dash of each of the following seasonings: garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, s&p

Sweet Variation


Make your waffles sweet by swapping the savory seasoning for 1T sweetener (we like Lakanto Golden) plus a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg. Top with some butter and sugar-free maple syrup (we like ChocZero). Tastes like french toast!
