Biscuits and gravy are a treat in our family, usually only eaten when we go out for breakfast. Since switching to Keto we've had to learn to make our own. This gravy is thick and flavorful just like you'd expect with far less carbs. Mix it up by using different kinds of sausage. Need an easy keto biscuit to serve with this gravy? Keto Sausage Gravy
1T butter
16oz sausage (any tube of breakfast sausage you like)
1c heavy whipping cream
1c half and half
1oz cream cheese
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder (check out these cute mini measuring spoons)
s&p to taste
1. In a large skillet, melt the butter and crumble the sausage. Brown the sausage on medium-high heat until thoroughly cooked. Drain in a colander and set aside.
2. In the same skillet, add remaining ingredients and stir, scraping the brown bits from the pan. Gravy should begin to thicken and come to a bubble.
3. Return meat to the pan and stir until it reaches the desired thickness. Turn off heat.
4. Pour gravy over biscuits and serve. Makes six 2/3c servings.
NOTE: To punch up the flavor even more, add different dried herbs. It's best to use similar herbs found in your sausage.
